I used to love and use Firefox exclusively, however it seems that for the past year it's because more like just another corporate giant which locks you into a circular loop leading absolutely nowhere.

I started off today downloading the Thunderbird email client as a replacement for the Windows 10 native email app (which Microsoft has actually conscientiously chosen to NOT include a basic yet necessary feature called "forward AS ATTACHMENT"!) to use with my Microsoft Live.com email account.

It seemed really great, that is until I looked into getting it to work with my contacts and calendar (without simply "importing" them into a local static copy which is yet another thing in my life that I would have to keep track of and update!

I truly hoping that Thunderbird can indeed both access and use my ONLINE contacts AND calendar, so I thought that I would at least ask before I ditch and trash your apps.

If so, please tell me how this can be configured (and why it's NOT easily found - because I DID search your support website BEFORE asking a question). If not, too bad, so sad, sayonara baby!

Thunderbird import capabilities tend to require a locally installed client - this doesn't include web-based mail systems. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/switching-thunderbird#w_switching-from-web-based-email-applications-to-thunderbird Furthermore, a real time sync capability to keep the two systems matching would require the web client, in this case live.com, to provide API so that others could access their system.

Perhaps we might, however:

1. The Help within the Thunderbird email client application for Windows goes directly to https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/products/thunderbird, so it seems like it is in fact somehow directly tied to Mozilla (at least for support - which I believe is exactly what I'm seeking).

2. The third to last line of the actual website that you offer as proof that Thunderbird is NOT connected with Mozilla, reads thusly "Thunderbird is now part of MZLA Technologies Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Mozilla Foundation."

3. I'm not privy to the technologies which make email, contacts & calendar work (active-sync, imap, pop, etc. - or I'd most likely be writing my very own bad-ass email program to corner the market, ya think?), but I DO know that my iPhone seems to work seamlessly with all three (email, contacts & calendar), e.g each individual app can and does access all data within all three data categories, so it looks like it's not only possible but somewhat simple (for those smart chaps over at Apple...).

4. I'm honestly not trying to argue nor other waste my or anyone else time here, I'd simply like a simple and definite answer one way or the other, so that I can get onto (hopefully) finding an adequate email client that I don't have to help program, but can simply "set it, and forget it"!
