Tabs constantly crashing.

Hello, I should start by saying that I'm a technophobe so I admit I'm not very good at explaining my problem or understanding how to deal with it. A couple of weeks ago my tabs began crashing regularly. After researching online, I've refreshed Firefox, done a clean re-install, emptied the cache, disabled add-ons, tried safe mode and turned off hardware acceleration. None have made any difference. I'm up-to-date with Firefox and am using Windows 10. When I switch to Microsoft Edge I don't get any problems at all. I take this to mean that it's not a problem with my PC which has all the latest updates installed. I there anything else I can try? I'm not keen on Edge and would prefer to stick with Firefox. Incidentally, this tab has crashed twice whilst I was typing this message. Thank you.

Hi Rodney,

  1. Please enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A list of Submitted/Unsubmitted Crash Reports will appear, similar to the one shown below.
  2. Copy the 5 most recent Submitted Report IDs that start with bp- and then go back to your forum question and paste those IDs into the "Post a Reply" box.

Note: If a recent Report ID does not start with bp- click on it to submit the report.

(Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the IDs. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like.)

If those crashes are only tabs that crash (i.e. Firefox doesn't crash) then there are probably no crash reports send and that makes it harder to troubleshoot.

Is this with all websites/pages, some, a few?

What were you doing at the time? surfing, watching a clip, reading something . . . .

Hello, Thanks for the reply. I was surfing. It happens with most websites but the majority occur with uk.finance.yahoo.com It's particularly noticeable when I'm scrolling down the page. I don't know if this indicates anything. As I mentioned, this page works perfectly with Microsoft Edge. Incidentally, I've also tried turning off my anti-virus software (Bitdefender) but this doesn't make any difference either.

Are you using JAWS or any other accessibility client? If not, go to Options -> Privacy & Security -> select Prevent accessibility services from accessing your browser.

Hello, I've looked and the"Prevent accessibilty" etc. and the box is currently unchecked. If I've understood you correctly, this is how you want it to appear. If you mean I should check the box and allow accessibilty, please let me know. Thank you. Rodney.
