Hi Dear,

I installed a new version of Windows 10 and unfortunately, I forgot to export my bookmarks locally but I already signed in to my firefox account with this email "******@outlook.com" to save and sync my bookmarks and etc. now I signed again but my bookmarks and extensions did not restore. I'll be grateful if you help me to fix it and restore my important data and bookmarks. Sorry for my bad English.

Thank you very much Meysam

Hello,

Sorry to hear about that. First, Firefox automatically creates backups of your bookmarks, which can be helpful if your bookmarks are lost or missing.

Click the Bookmarks button Bookmarks-29 (or New Fx Menu > Bookmarks) and select Show All Bookmarks. At the top of the Library window, click on Import and Backup and select Restore. Click the date of the bookmark backup you want to recover. In the new window that appears, click OK. Your bookmarks from the selected date should now be restored. For more information, see the Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer article. For other solutions, see the Recover lost or missing Bookmarks article.

If the above doesn't work, it could be that a file got corrupted (namely the places.sqlite file). You can install the Places Maintenance extension to run maintenance on the file. Please read the following articles first as they provide helpful hints and instructions that may be relevant to you:

Thank you.

If you used Sync in Firefox you should have a 2nd device connected to that same Firefox Account for Sync services. If you didn't have a 2nd device ever connected, you may "lost" whatever data that was in Sync when installing Windows - if you reset the Firefox Account password.

The Firefox Account password is used to encrypt Sync data, and a different password makes the saved data useless to anyone so that data is automatically deleted by Sync when a new password is set to allow continued use of the Firefox Account with a fresh load of data from one of the other devices.
