Hello everyone ! Please give me a hint how to stop/pause a slide show on a website. For example on the Guardian International site, there is normaly a kind of a slideshow to the most important topic. Sometimes I llike to have a closer look on a image/photo, but there is no way to pause this . No ESC e.g. I can take a screnshot of the whole page, but I like to watch only the picture that is shon at this moment. Regards hhgoten

Hello.., Firefox 42+ has a Tracking Protection feature that is enabled by default in Private Browsing mode. When you are in private browsing mode then Firefox can show a shield icon at the left end of the location/address bar that some content is affected.

You can disable this feature in "Options/Preferences > Privacy" or via the about:privatebrowsing page that get when you open a New Private Window.

Options/Preferences > Privacy: "Use Tracking Protection in Private Windows" https://support.mozilla.org/kb/tracking-protection-firefox https://support.mozilla.org/kb/control-center-site-privacy-and-security-firefox Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Safe+Mode https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes You can check the Web Console (Firefox menu button or Tools > Web Developer) for error messages.

@ARMAN KHAN Thank you, but that does not solve my problem. No other reaction with the suggested keys. I'm running firefox for mozilla 77.0.1 with xubuntu 20.04, xfce . As I mentioned, I can do a screenshot of the whole window , but not pause the slideshow to see a special picture. Try https://www.theguardian.com/international and you can see (today 05 june ) a slideshoe according to George Floyd as an example. And maybe I want to see the picture from the funeral more closely. I cant pause/stop then. This website always uses this method and often the pictures are shown to short for me.

Hello hhgoten,

Now if I can figure out how other types of slideshows can be paused, I'll have my solution.

I just went to a different website and clicked on the last photo of a series in a slideshow under "Books & Membership," and it created Left and Right Arrows.

If clicked the Arrows will re-open the slideshow to view the photos manually.

Here's the URL I'm talking about: https://www.lightonconspiracies.com/

Not with the guardians website. No arrows , but clicking anyone of the pictures opens another link.
