Hello McCoy,

This worked like a charm.

Thank you very much for your help !!

Just wanted to check if there is a permanent way of doing it. Once this is done, if i go back to the settings in GUI, the box is blank and does not have a value and the drop-down shows a maximum count of 4.

Regards,

Abbas

I just tested it :

I normally have 3 rows, and that's the number that shows in Options -> Home.
After reading your last post, I changed the number of rows to 6 on the about:config page, and the new tab page showed 6 rows, as expected.
Then I went to Options -> Home, and just like with you, it is blank and when I click on it, the maximum number is 4.
(on the new tab page the number of rows is still   "6")

In all honesty :   have no idea why that is ......

I suspect 4 rows is the default (maximum), which one can increase on the about: config page, but it cannot be reflected in Options -> Home.

I will forward this to a fellow contributor, who might know the answer.
(but it might take a while before he sees my message though, as we're in different time zones).

Thank you for testing and for the breezy response.

No rush, take your time.

As long as I have the required number of rows, I am fine. Since i noticed the issue, thought of asking.

Hi Abbas, the design of the drop-down menu on Options/Preferences page only has menu items for 1 to 4 rows. When the page is set up based on the saved values, any other value cannot be depicted because there isn't a menu item for it. I'm attaching a screenshot of the page with the Page Inspector open showing how it's set up for reference.

Thank you for explaining.

Just wanted to check if the code can be changed to have 6 rows.

If yes, fine. Else you can close this and mark as Solution Delivered.

Very happy with the support :)

I'm glad that my assumption was correct and that "4" is indeed the default maximum number that can be displayed in preferences.
Fortunately, the number can be increased on the about: config page, which you have done successfully.
(by the way :   well done !)
