Have uninstalled program [including registry purge], reinstalled latest version, all NO help. Tried setting new version to IMAP receiver -- NOPE. Have been Thunderbird user for at least 15 years; never had this problem before.

Hi You probably need to connect with your email provider support to find out exactly which server settings they need you to enter in Thunderbird. This would not be the first time that an email service decided to change server settings without informing their email users. I found this that might help if you have one of the listed combinations of Verizon service with other email services. https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-17067/ I also noticed there are a number of other people with the same issue in the last few months asking on forums. For example, those using Outlook or Windows Mail are asking on microsoft forums. Try searching here for similar recent questions https://forums.verizon.com/ One other thought - if you are using an older device, Yahoo may require different authentication now.
