How do i restore my history after suspect CCleaner action
Hi all,
I have lost all my history and i would really like to get it back as it is 8 years worth of history. I'm not sure what happen but i suspect CCleaner as I tried it for the first time for cleaning of cookies, with careful untick of all category under history. Keyword being tried as I didnt see pop up for "complete". I did a system restore after this due to some other issue. Then after all is done i launch firefox and found out the history disappeared.
My firefox version is 75.0 and I had tried searching for places.sqlite or place.sqlite.corrupt. Only see one places.sqlite file, and there is no previous version to restore to.
What can I do to get the history back?

Additional note: I said suspected CCleaner because it did not happen immediately. The browser was still open and everything is fine after the suppose cleaning.
If you use a Windows System Restore then Windows might have restored an older copy of profiles.ini and that might have caused a profile switch and Windows may also have replaced other files. A Windows System Restore should always be used with much care and you should backup your profile folder just to be sure.
It is possible that a new default-release profile folder has been created or that you have switched to an older profile. See "Determine if Firefox has created a new profile":
You can open the about:profiles page via the location bar to check whether multiple profiles are present and what profile Firefox currently is using.
- Do NOT click any Remove button on this page.

Hi,
I tried the above and did not see any old or new profile. I manage to recall, the history already disappear even before the system restore. Is there other way?
After a bit of checking on the net i think the problem is really CCleaner, after I run the CCleaner on the recycle bin, and by default it clean history.
Thanks
