Why doesn't firefox passwords ask for your lockwise password to unlock your passwords wallet? Very unsecure!
You just click your icon, click Logins and passwords, and boom everything shows up un-encrypted. Seems very loose. I wish the security was better like on the Lockwise app where you have to ID every now and then to access the passwords wallet. I wish the password was shared between both platform too (why set a master password on desktop and another one for the app?).

When the Lockwise interface was integrated into Firefox for desktop, it continued using the Master Password for securing access to locally saved logins. One of those locally saved logins may be your Firefox Account login.
Use a Primary Password to protect stored logins and passwords
Maybe it will change in the future, but historically users have not required to create a Firefox Account to use Firefox and its built-in password manager.
In 76 you'll have to enter your Windows password to enter Lockwise.

The master password to protect logins and passwords works on my laptop but it doesn't on my phone. All it requires is my 4 digit phone pin and all my logins and passwords are available. This is totally illogical and makes Lockwise useless as their is no security at all. Unless I can get the master password to work I will be ditching Lockwise from my phone.
Hi greggow2, are you referring to a Firefox browser on your phone, or the Firefox Lockwise app?
Firefox for Android lets you set a Master Password, which is local to that installation of Firefox: Using Master Password on Firefox for Android.
According to app store listings for the Lockwise mobile app:
- Google Play: "Use your fingerprint or PIN to lock the app"
- Apple: "Use Face ID or Touch ID to lock the app"
I haven't used the app myself, so if there is some other password option, I don't know of it.
Hi and thanks for the reply. I am referring to the Lockwise app. The master password in the firefox on my laptop also secures the lockwise access. However on my phone the mster password only secures firefox itself - not the lockwise app. Doesn't make any sense to me that the lockwise app would solely rely on the phone pin for security.
