I had Firefox on my Mobile Phone. i linked it to my account. Firefox started acting up, it wouldn't close and kept running in the background when it did close. So, i uninstalled it. i was going to reinstall it the next day.

While on my PC i noticed my usernames and passwords weren't showing up on log-in pages. I checked in Firefox logins & passwords, there is nothing there. I had thousands of usernames and passwords stored there.

Why were they deleted when i uninstalled Firefox Android app? Is there anyway to get them back?

Thanks

Hey there,

Do you still have all of your bookmarks and everything else, you're only missing your passwords?

Type about:support into your address bar and click Open Folder next to Profile Folder. Do you see a file named logins.json? If the name of this file deviates at all from that, let me know what it says.

Yes, I see that file. its the same as you have listed.

Now Firefox will not keep any passwords or user names. I save them. it keeps them until I close the browser open the browser and what i added are gone. Bookmarks haven't changed, they are all still there.

Also, the whole syncing process isn't working. It syncs but, its syncing the default Firefox Browser. its not saving my add-ons, settings. I think the last update (72.0.2) broke my Firefox?

Thank You, Good Day.

Does the aforementioned file contain a bunch of text when you open it? How large is the file? If this is empty and they are not in your account, then I'm sorry to say that your passwords are likely gone.

If you have given up on recovering the data, you can fix the problem with password saving by resting your browser. Before doing this, you should backup all of the data that is fine like bookmarks: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/export-firefox-bookmarks-to-backup-or-transfer

Hopefully this helps!
