Previously when I started to type the quoted text below would be pushed down when I pressed Return. Now, the line I just wrote is scrolled out of view and the text below stays. I'd rather continue to be able to read what I am writing.

I can't reproduce it in 68.4.1/W10 - it works as it should, the new content is visible and the quoted portion scrolls down. Does the same thing happen in safe mode? Hold Shift when you launch TB.

Thanks sfhowes. No, it does not happen in Safe mode. That behaves as before.

Image shows screen before and after pressing return, in normal mode.

If it works in safe mode, check if one of your add-ons is causing it, and if add-ons aren't to blame, try 'reset toolbars and controls' and 'make changes and restart' from the safe mode prompt.

I have the same problem in TB 68.4.1 I also top post, and lines are scrolled up out of view. I have no extensions or add-ons.

Try it in safe mode, and if it works properly, apply the reset option.

As the kb article states, safe mode involves more than just disabling add-ons.

I'm not familiar with safe mode. How do I enter that mode?

That did seem to fix the problem, thanks.

Well - the problem is back again today, after a reboot.

I have Lightning and Provider for Google Calendar . Should I disable them and test again, or remove them?

Yes, disable them both and restart in normal mode. If the problem remains, enable them one-by-one and see if the problem remains. If neither one causes the problem, then do the toolbar reset. Make sure both add-ons are up to date.

This is getting complicated. I disabled both Lightning and Google Provider, no difference, then removed them, it worked. I reinstalled Provider and still OK. Installed Lightning (latest ) , then found it did not work ... at times.

Here's the difference. I click Reply. Press Ctrl-Home to go to the top, press enter, arrow up, type, enter, first line stays visible.

I click Reply. Press Ctrl-End to review the end of the message, then Ctrl-Home to go to the top, press enter, arrow up, type, enter, this time the text scrolls up.

I've no idea why. But if it works for me if I just don't review the message first, I might remember to do that.
