Firefox quirky, clicks too fast and highlights words I am not highlighting, and opens extra tabs I did not opoen.
I can click on a link and a page opens twice! Or, opens an additional page I did not want to access,. Sometimes, if I try to stop a YouTube video the click on the stop button effects nothing. Very quirky lately.

If there is still a problem, Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Did this help?

Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.
I was not thinking its malware, because it started happening right after a Windows update. I uninstalled the update, but the problem has persisted.
