Please please help. I have been quite happily using Thunderbird for some while now but lately I have an intermittent error when i try to send "Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.mail.yahoo.com timed out. Try again."

I have tried disabling windows defender firewall and that has no impact at all. I have tried clearing the cache and sometimes it would fix the problem and so I am able to send but then the problem would reoccurred again. I am at my wit's end. Please please see if you can help me. Much appreciated.

I have the same problem. Mails without attachments go out real quick, but once I attach a file (even really small ones !!) I get the same message (of course with a different Outgoing server) : "Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) mail.kpnmail.nl was lost in the middle of the transaction. Try again." Is this possibly a bug in a new update ??
