Where are you trying to import the bookmarks from?

These instructions are for Firefox. Other browsers should also be able to do this.

These instructions will combine the new bookmarks with the old.

Open the Bookmarks Manager; Press the Alt or F10 key to bring up the toolbar, and select Bookmarks. Hot key is <Control> (Mac=<Command>) <Shift> B.

Once the window is open, at the top of the page, press the button labeled Import and Backup. Select Export Bookmarks To HTML, and follow the prompts and save it to a HTML file. Copy the file to another computer/profile. Repeat the instructions above, BUT select Import Bookmarks From HTML.

I have no button labeled Import and Backup at the top of my Library window.

Do you see the two arrows, one pointing up and the other pointing down? That's the import button.

A few other things.

You said you downloaded Firefox Platinum. There is no such thing. Did you pay for Firefox?

Also, there is a newer version of Firefox, 68.0.1 which you should install.

Finally, please update your MacOS if possible

I seem to have this problem as well. I'm on the latest version of Firefox, did a reset, on the latest Mac version. No downward button (except Downloads) and no import option.

In the Bookmarks Manager (Library) there is a toolbar with the Back and Forward button and three other buttons (Organize, Views, Import & Backup).

  • first button (cogwheel): Organize
  • second button: Views
  • third button (up/down arrow): Import & Backup

Thanks. Wish that was more intuitive!
