A work colleague typically uses an email address that is different than the email address that is in their digital certificate. So when trying to send an encrypted email to them I can only send to the address in their digital certificate; unable to send encrypted to their other email address using that certificate.

Outlook has a "registry" option to allow this to be done by putting in a "SupressNameChecks" key and setting it to 1. Outlook typically does a check to see if the email in the certificate matches the email of the recipient; if no match then Outlook disallows action. But putting in this key "overrides" the Outlook and tells it to not perform the "email check matching". Doing this then allows you to send email encrypted to an address different than the address in teh certificate.

Wondering if something similar can be done for the Thunderbird client ? Maybe under the "Certificate Manager" -> "People" tab? Thanks Very much!
