Some coockies get corrupt.

Kuphostiwe

I am running Firefox (latests version) on Linux Mint (constantly updated). My user profile (and as such my firefox user profile) is hosted on a -custom- online filesystem (maybe this has something to do, the filesystem is AFS). Some times some functionality of some sites will get broken and with trial and error I found out that it is cookies related.

Two of the problems I have till now is not being able to search on aliexpress and not be able to show the notifications and messages menu on facebook (or share a post etc). The weird is that not all functionality is broken.

Also I should state that while fiddling around I found out that my cookies etc as stated by the firefox settings options is exactly 1.0Gb (which may suggest a limit that gets reached).

Finally, while trying to find this support page, I tried to login to the normal firefox account page which resulted in a " Cookies and local storage are required Cookies are still disabled " error which is pretty weird as I DO NOT have cookies disabled. The settings are almost vanilla.

For addons I have uBlock, LastPass and Google translate. But disabling uBlock does not seem to do anything.

Do you have any idea of what is going on? Is there any other such issue to anyone else?

Although not a deal breaking problem for the time being any help would be appreciated.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

If clearing cookies didn't help then it is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies got corrupted.

Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other present cookies files like cookies.sqlite-journal in the Firefox profile folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Cookies
