dell windows 7 computer cannot find hard drive after trying to set firefox private browsing as default

Tried to set private browsing as the default. Firefox said it needed to be restarted to make the changes. The computer froze, and had to be restarted. When restarted the on board diagnostics said hard drive could not be found. Everything else was fine. Any idea why this happened, or how to fix it?

Have you been able to fix the system issue by now? You might run some memory and disk diagnostics.
