Hi,

I am using Thunderbird 52.5 (32 bit) on Windows 7 64bit. Every time I download new mail using POP3, all my old mails which I had downloaded earlier get marked as "read" even though I might not have read some of them.

I want them to stay "Unread" till I have actually read them. Can't see any option to handle this situation. Searched on the net but nobody seems to have this issue.

Thanks Amal

In order for us to be sure your account is correctly configured, we'll need some more information.

Could you please do the following:

  1. Open the menu Fx57Menu > Help > Troubleshooting Information, then click Copy text to Clipboard.
  2. Go to https://pastebin.com and paste the info from your Troubleshooting Information page, then copy the resulting URL.
  3. Open a reply to this post, and paste the link to your troubleshooting information.

Here is some additional info, this is happening with the main account "amsharma@abhi...com". I have multiple accounts configured in TB.

Hi,

I also noticed that every time I close TB and start it again all UnRead messages have a changed status, i.e. become Read.
