Do previous Firefox Recovery Codes expire when new ones are created?
When I generate a new set of Recovery Codes for my Sync account, are the old ones still usable? Or just the latest generated set is valid?
It is not very clear in the Sync preferences how it works.
When you activate the second factor for logins, there is an option to generate Recovery Codes which are different every time. I just want to know what happens with the previous unused ones once you generate a new set.
Thanks!
Edit: updated for clarity.

Thanks for the help.
I took the time to try it on different machine and I can confirm the previous set of codes stop working when a new one is generated. Which is exactly what I would expect bu I think this should be made more clear both in the Sync setup screen when new codes are generated and in the notification email you get afterwards.
I'm so glad Mozilla decided to go with time based codes and not SMS second factor, I wish more companies would follow the example.

What account are you talking about? And what recovery codes?
Are you talking about Sync?
Sorry. Yes, I mean in the settings for Sync.
I don't know if 2FA recovery codes expire when you generate new codes. Maybe you should try if they still work or not unless those older recovery codes are compromised or lost and you want to be sure that they can't be used.
