Just an update because it seems to be working fine now. Yesterday I ended up uninstalling Firefox and reinstalling it from a different browser. After doing this it still kept crashing normally but I was able to open it in safe mode where I refreshed Firefox again. Not sure exactly why it worked out this way but it did. Maybe it will help others in a similar situation in the future. Thanks for the response... it is most appreciated!

Hi ashulein, sorry to hear about the crashes and thank you for the crash report ID.

This report seems to be a rare problem. I only found two others during the past month with the same "signature."

It seems to have a problem opening a database file. I'm not sure what file it is trying to open, but one possibility is a file associated with the built-in home page (same as the new tab page), if you have Firefox start up on that page.

Could you try starting Firefox on a different page? For example, you could paste the URL of this thread in the Windows 7 search box (on the Start menu) and submit that, and Windows should open it in your default browser.

Any difference?

We certainly could help you hide some or all of the existing databases, but this could cause problems for any add-ons that store settings or accumulated data in those files. So... not the first thing I'd suggest trying.
