Website error in WIndows 10 Home 64bit oem

Kuphostiwe

Hey Guys and Gals,

I have a website problem with Firefox in Windows 10 Home 64bit oem.

I am trying to get to Cyberlink.com and I get error . I also get error if I try using Chrome. Attached at 2 screenshots, 1 FF and 1 Chrome.

I cant access the site using either browser in wiindows 10.

Microsoft Edge accesses it fine thou. Also I have a Linux virtual OS on my system and I can access Cyberlink.com using firefox in it.

I thought maybe it was my system but it also happened on 2 other computer running Windows 7. But to be on safeside I ran Windows 10 troubleshooter and no problems were found. I ran SFC /scannow from Elevated CMD prompt and it found no errors. I than ran a DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth and it found no problems.

Anyone else have an issue accessing Cyberlink.com (cyberlink dot com) just in case links are blocked?

And how would I fix the issue if it is only my system?

Please let me know. Thanks in advance Gren

Isisombululo esikhethiwe

Hello FredMcD,

Sorry for late reply but had family in hospital who just got out yesterday and needed 24-7 help for Tuesday and Wednesday.

As for my issue, the Download manager did not work. IT seems Firefox with Bitdefender seem to have a glitch. As does Chrome when i click links on pages that I know are safe and it is to download a file the browser crashes now.

I have had to switch to Opera until bitdefender can fix issue. I also know with latest bitdefender some trusted websites are blocked. One I know for sure that I remember is www.cyberlink.com I had to add the site to Bitdefenders total exclusion list or it would never open. Bitdefender themselves told me to excluse and know trusted site that is now blocked.

Its a royal pain in the butt.

I can mark this thread as solved again if you wish?

Thanks Drauka

Hello FredMcD,

Funny that you would respond to me, We seem to have the same first name.

As for your response, thanks for all the info. I added the website to Bitdefenders exclusion list after reading all the links you posted.

As soon as I did that I was able to get to the site fine.

Thanks again for all the help. Have a Great Day. Grendor

Umnikazi wombuzo

Hello FredMcD,

Sorry to unclose the ticket but I still have a problem.

Seems thou I can access some blocked sites by adding exceptions to bit defender, I am unable to download anything at all.

I click links and select download directory I want to use and then it starts download and sits at 0 forever.

Thou if I us MS Edge they download fine.

Is this another issue with Bitdefender?

I thought it could be so Bitdefender had me do a uninstall and reinstall of bit defender but I still have issue.

I then used Revo To uninstall firefox and then deleted ever directory I found in appdata. I reinstalled FF and tried to download and still have same problem. So I re-added my apps to FF as I prefer FF to all others.

Your help/info would be great. Thanks in advance Drauka

Is this with may websites, some, a few?

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache.

  • Clear the Cache and
  • Remove Cookies

Warning ! ! This will log you out of sites you're logged in to. You may also lose any settings for that website.

If there is still a problem, Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Did this help?

While you are in safe mode;

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration in Firefox. Since this feature was added to Firefox it has gradually improved but there are still a few glitches.

http://kb.mozillazine.org/Issues_with_Firefox#Downloading_opening_or_saving_files +++++++++++++++++++++++++++ This download manager works separately from the browser. The browser tells it what to download, and off it goes.
