Hi kinkade14, sorry to hear about your crashes. The ones you submitted are the only ones support volunteers can view, and we need the report IDs from your Firefox to find them. Please check the support article "Firefox crashes - asking for support" for steps to get those crash report IDs from the about:crashes page (or, if necessary, from disk), and then post some of the recent ones here.

Also and/or meanwhile, could you test in Firefox's Safe Mode? That temporarily deactivates extensions, hardware acceleration, and some other advanced features of Firefox that might make it more prone to crashing on some systems.

If Firefox is not running: Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox.

If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
  • (menu bar) Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

and OK the restart.

Both scenarios: A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).

Any less crashy?

ok to clarify - the problem I have is speed slows way down and the tab (s) crash.

Have done all updates to drives etc. run all spyware virus stuff.

A refreash helped. Runs just great in safe mode. no crashes and speed great. played around with it and reneabled add ons and a tad slower etc. But there seems to be some correlation between having my eamil tab ope and any other tab. Thats when it really slows or crashes.

Does email slow down everything in regular mode but not in Safe Mode? Or does email slow down everything in both modes?

more options

I would say orignally it was in regular mode, not safe mode. Hard to tell now things seems to be working properly for the time being.

nope still crashes but not as often after ff refreash. does this while yahoo tab open. in normal mode

In the address bar, type about:crashes<enter>. Note: If any reports do not have BP- in front of the numbers/letters, click it to submit them.

The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.

Using your mouse, mark the most recent 7 - 10 crash reports, and copy them. Now go to the reply box and paste them in.

Hi kinkade14, are you sure these were all submitted? The first report ID is not recognized by the server.

All BP reports state submitted

Exactly, please share submitted report IDs -- if they weren't submitted yet, they are only on your computer, not the crash stats server.

what did you find?

more options

your system seems to run out of free memory resources which is leading to crashes. please try to remove the norton safe web extension which is implicated in a number of those issues and install an adblocking add-on like "unlock origin" instead.

Note that the Telemetry Environment shows a rather low setting for the virtual memory, Try to increase this to the recommended setting.
