Right click opens two copies
If I go to some sites I've noticed if I right click on a link and choose open in a new tab, it opens the new tab, but also loads that page on the page I right clicked from - so I get two copies of the one page.. Does that make sense?
I've tried:
Editing about:config files to default (can't remember which ones now) Loading in safe mode. Editing mouse settings Deleting mouse drivers Complete uninstall (including wiping out %Appdata% files Trying a different browser (works fine in IE)

Is this with many web pages or some?
You said you fried Firefox Safe Mode. Have you tried
Start your Computer in safe mode with network support. Then start Firefox. Try Secure websites. Is the problem still there?

Hi, booting into safe mode with networking made no difference. And https sites are the same.
I don't really browse a lot but it has definitely happened on a few sites. I just thought it was site related - some kind of anti-right click measure at first. Since it doesn't happen with IE I guess this isn't the case.
Last site I noticed it happening was:
I can right click open in a new tab on the main page (let's say, Vans sneakers) but if I right click an item on the next page (where it lists all the sneakers for sale) and open in a new tab it will load the current page and the new tab page with the target link.
And I've just noticed if I right click (without clicking anything else) it loads the target link...
This usually happens if there is an event handler attached that processes the mouse click and that doesn't differentiates, so a right click has the same effect as a left click. If you open the link in a new tab via the right-click context menu (href) then the same link will open in the current tab via the JavaScript event handler.
Except it doesn't happen if I use Internet Explorer...?
