Why are my bookmarks multiplying?

Kuphostiwe

My bookmark directories have doubled - meaning I have 2 of each directory. Also, within bookmark directories I am seeing the saved webpages duplicating or, in some cases, tripling. This is making it difficult to use Firefox.

^: Are you using Sync to sync the bookmarks to a mobile device?

You may have to restore an older backup from the bookmarkbackups folder.

The name of an automatically created JSON bookmarks backup in the bookmarkbackups folder includes a total item count (folders and separators included) and an hash value to prevent saving the same backup more than once. You also see this count in the Restore menu drop-down list.
