You also could consider:

(1) Malware scans that can detect "annoying" programs, for example:

You can view, disable, and often remove unwanted or unknown extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:

Command+Shift+a (Windows: Ctrl+Shift+a)

"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return

In the left column of the Add-ons page, click Extensions.

Then cast a critical eye over the list on the right side. Any extensions Firefox installs for built-in features are hidden from this page, so everything listed here is your choice (and your responsibility) to manage. Anything related to Pinterest, or anything suspicious or that you just do not remember installing or why? If in doubt, disable (or remove).

Any improvement?

The program I have entered was on the toolbar at the top of my screen. It is an artistic letter P in white with a red circle background. The highlighted address you gave me had one on the second page, but there is nothing there to help me. If I put the curser over the P on the toolbar You get a "Save" message and a "search using Google" message. I have removed Firefox to see if that helps without success. I can find very little information at all, and I am frightened to go on the site.
Regards Roger.

Doesn't seem to be an add-on for Firefox.

Is that something for Pinterest?
If so, try contacting the developer of that app for removal instructions.

I don't recall FF does Pinning. Are we talking about the same functions here?
