Type about:addons<enter> in the address bar to open your Add-ons Manager. Hot key; (<Control> [Mac=<Command>] <Shift> A)
In the Add-ons Manager, on the left, select Extensions. Remove “ Edge “ Anything.
Also remove SafeSearch, SearchAssist Incognito, FileConverter Addon, SearchLock, DiscreteSearch, WebSearch, Findwide Search Engine
Now do the same in the computer’s Programs Folder.
Windows: Start > Control Panel > Uninstall Programs. Mac: Open the Applications folder. Linux: Check your user manual.

Note: Windows users should download the ActiveX for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).
Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the ActiveX.
Flash Player Version: Version 184.108.40.206

I still have the problem
Ran a malware scan and isolated 15 possible threats but that didn't work either
I had installed a Logitech webcam software so uninstalled but that didn't do it either
Hi, that I believe is by design I think during beta for version 1803 of Win10 it was talked about. But if you're Default browser is set for Firefox it should not.
Not seen this before but this is the closest answer can get. Substitute Chrome with Firefox : https://www.howtogeek.com/226638/make-the-windows-10-start-menu-and-cortana-search-google-instead-of-bing/
actually the edge deflector sends me to Firefox which is great
I still end up with Bing as the search engine and that I will work on tomorrow
How dare microsoft highjack my computer!
Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:
- Microsoft Safety Scanner
- MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
- Anti-Rootkit Utility - TDSSKiller (for more info, see this alternate TDSSKiller download page)
- AdwCleaner (for more info, see this alternate AdwCleaner download page)
- Hitman Pro
- ESET Online Scanner
Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

I ran a malware and 2 pups were removed. However, I cannot get rid of edge...I used the Edge deflector and that works but everyday when I turn on th epc, I have to reset the default to Firefox and the mail to Outlook....Never did get rid of Bing
This is a strange issue. I think that you may have better luck asking Microsoft support, since it doesn't sound like a Firefox-related issue.
