Update to release 52.8.0, attachments no longer show at bottom of opened message.
I have used Thunderbird for years. There is a column in list view/inbox that shows whether there are attachments, all fine. Until today, I have opened an incoming mail in a new tab (don't use message pane, too small with my eyesight) and seen the attachments at the bottom of the message from where I can open, save, detach and so on.
Today I was prompted to update, so now I am on version 52.8.0 (running on Windows 10). When I open a message the attachments are no longer shown at the bottom. I can get to them by selecting message from the menu bar, scrolling down to attachments then across to the one(s) I want, but its not intuitive and way more trouble than just scrolling down the message and selecting.
I have read the release notes about sending attachments, but there is nothing relevant about receiving attachments, and spent a long time in various options and settings but can't find a way to get it back to how it was.
Can I roll back? If so, how (in easy steps please!)

Restart Thunderbird with add-ons disabled (Thunderbird Safe Mode). On the Help menu, click on "Restart with Add-ons Disabled". If Thunderbird works like normal, there is an Add-on or Theme interfering with normal operations. You will need to re-enable add-ons one at a time until you locate the offender.
Excellent thanks .... worked first time. Why didn't I think of that.
Runs fine in safe mode. Removed (not just disabled) all add ins - the only things left are default theme and dictionary. But - it still only works properly in safe mode (which means I don't have dictionary spellcheck on outgoing mails). Starting in normal mode even with just the 2 things above, it doesn't show the attachments in the message pane.
Curious, so will chip away at it some more.
Start TB in safe mode, check 'Reset toolbars and controls' and click 'Make changes and restart'. If the attachment pane shows and the rest is working properly, re-install your previous add-ons.
