Note that you need to use the cursor Down key to select (highlight) the entry because there is a difference between using the keyboard and hovering with the mouse. If the latter isn't working then you need to use the keyboard.

Are you talking about your address or a website?

Remove History For One Site

Open the History Manager <Control><Shift> H. In the search bar, enter the name of the site. Right-click on one of the listings and select Forget About This Site. This should remove all information, including any passwords / settings.

I guess I'm talking about an address. In IE they have an X so if you make a mistake on the address, you can delete it from the history without having to delete all of the history. I hate having incorrect addresses on my history bar.

Follow the instructions in my last post.

I tried to delete just one but your method does not work. Any other suggestions? Why can't Mozzila/Firefox just give us an X in the window to delete it?

Your question says; 'history bar' There is no history bar. Are you talking about the Bookmarks Toolbar? Right-click an entry and select Delete.

You can use these steps to remove saved items from an autocomplete drop-down list.

  1. click the (empty) input field on the web page to open the drop-down list
  2. highlight an entry in the drop-down list with cursor Down key
do not click the mouse or press the Enter key
  3. press the Delete key (on Mac: Shift+Delete) to delete the highlighted entry

Note that hovering with the mouse no longer works.

That still doesn't work for the drop down history button. Oh well.. frustration - still can't figure out why it can't be as easy as IE which I hate.

What is the area called where you put in your http address? That is the drop down history bar to me. That is what I'm talking about. Deleting just one entry out of the drop down history area.

highlighting an entry in the location bar drop-down list and pressing delete should work for history items. If there is a star present then this means the entry is a bookmark and you will have to remove the bookmark to remove this entry.

I finally figured it out for myself. When I hover over the address I want deleted in the location bar; I right clicked it so it became solid. Then I used my delete button, and it worked. Thank you for sticking with me. I am happy to finally figure this out. I appreciated all your answers. Thanks to all who tried to help me. I appreciated it.
