This just started happening recently. FF 60.0.1 64-bit.

If I go to a Twitch stream that is running mono audio, it only comes from the left speaker. This only happens in Firefox. Shockwave Flash is set to Ask to Activate.

Main info: Win 10 1803 i7 7700K no oc 16 gigs DDR4 Soundblaster Z with the latest driver

Is there any additional info needed? Any ideas I could try?

Does other audio site do this or just twitch stream? If other sites have no issues then the problem would be a twitch stream or Audio Driver issue.

When I check a couple of Youtube videos that claim to be mono sound tests, it comes from both speakers.

I can tell you it is not limited to one Twitch stream - I've noticed it on two already since this started.

I contacted Twitch about this yesterday but so far no response.

I think that I've seen issues reported in the past that mono media files only play via one channel, so this might be a Firefox limitation.

Youtube videos in mono come from both speakers in Firefox though

First link is not related to the topic. Second through fourth link - some I have tried, but most do not explain why it works right on Youtube but not on Twitch. I can only guess it is tied to something at Twitch - however, those same channels work correctly in Chrome and not Firefox.

Why would that happen, do you think?

It could depend on the codec that is used.

Can you post a link to a publicly accessible page (i.e. no authentication or signing on required)?

Here's another example, this time on Youtube

Only comes out the left speaker on Firefox, but sounds fine in Chrome

Apparently this is in fact a confirmed bug that was re-introduced. They have it fixed in the upcoming Firefox 61:

Cannot post an unauthorized page, but some facebook videos has this issue too. https://www.facebook.com/HRTLmuzik/videos/1566187983457801/?q=hrtl%20milady

I have FF 61.0.1 and it hasn't been fixed.
