After last update (Firefox 58.02) XTREME SLOW/ UNUSABLE. WINDOWS 10 DELL XPS 8910

DELL PC XPS 8910. Win10 (HORRIBLE- likely contributing). Cannot find how 2 do selective start-up During its last "stroke" trying to close win (w/ EXTREME delays), noted "Firefox APPLET" in Task Manager (IN RED). In addition, after finally shutting it off, power light remains on for longer than usual (?Program closing?) I also want to undo the last update but cannot find the location. I have used Mozilla for 21 YEARS but after these events, the changes in interfaces, inability to use certain Web sites (browner incompatibility) etc. I am seriously considering switching to Chrome or other.

Thank you
