Youtube stopped working correctly left click now does nothing but freeze Feb 2018
Suddenly 9 February you tube no longer working on firefox (working on opera properly) left click freezes youtube. Cant find any help when doing searches everything related is several years old and not doing anything to correct problem.
Firefox did an update and then this issue.
Enjoy firefox but will have to migrate to another browser cannot do any you tube searches.....sigh.

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache. Note: This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to. To clear cache and cookies do the following:
- (Firefox 57 and above) Click the Library button
and choose History.
(Click the menu button
and choose History in older Firefox versions.)
- In the History menu, choose "Clear Recent History...".
- Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
- Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
- From the details list, check Cache and Cookies and uncheck everything else.
- Now click the "Clear Now" button.

ALTERNATIVELY:
This is a known performance issue with the new Material Design of YouTube. Open a new private tab in Firefox and load the same video. In the top right corner of YouTube UI click on vertical 3-dots (left of SIGN IN). Choose to switch back to old YouTube design. Now the page should load instantly. If it does, you can switch back to old design on your main YouTube account too.
I believe there are elements that aren't currently supported by Firefox, so it uses a workaround to display YouTube, but this comes at the cost of performance. Placing your computer to high performance mode might help little bit if it is currently being throttled.
