The Theme & Font size changer periodically stops working (all the messages become tiny) and goes missing.

I have tried reinstalling version 62.0 for TB, but nothing happens - in the past when I've done a reinstallation it has worked.

Can someone please let me know why this is happening?

P.S. I use the same Theme & font size changer with FF 57.0.4 and it works fine, never goes missing.

I've tried the green button several times, but get nothing. This is very strange - T&FC has stopped & gone missing before, but I've always been able to reinstall it.

There is a message next to the download button "This version is not compatible with this version of Thunderbird"

This is what I've been using.

See my post concerning the T&FSC add-on, and right-click the xpi link in step 1, Save Link As.... Once you have it downloaded, open Tools/Add-ons/Extensions, click the cog icon next to the Search bar, select 'Install Add-on from File...', then select the xpi file. This applies to all add-ons, but in this case you will have to modify the add-on xpi file as explained in the rest of the post.

Why so much technicality, for what should be a simple Add On installation?

And what is going on that is causing this situation that was not before?

more options

The link to the instructions for modifying the add-on explains how it contains a 'time bomb' that made it inoperable on Jan. 5. I expect the add-on author will rectify the situation so that the normal installation resumes.

more options

Where do I find the archive? I've looked at T information - did not see archive.

more options

Change the xpi extension to zip and then open it like any other 'archive' file.

more options

Is there an easier way - I'm pretty good at tech stuff, but not this good.

more options

Not that I can think of. But another method of achieving the same result is given here (works for Firefox and TB).

more options

OK - I changed the file to a zip file, then I right click and go to Text Edit App. But then It tells me that Text Edit App. cant open this type of file.

more options

You have to extract the bootstrap.js file, open it in a text editor, make the necessary changes and save it, then add it back to the zip file, overwriting the original. Then, change the zip extension back to xpi and install it as explained above.

more options

Well. I've tried doing the Zip method several time all from scratch, but nothing happens.

more options

If you managed to install the modified xpi file, restart TB to see the add-on under Tools or the toolbar button.

more options

I did restart TB and T&F Size Changer is listed in the Add-On's page, but there is no control button in the control bar.

more options

What is the procedure/process for - Zip the archive back?

Please explain the: zip from inside the xpi directory? If it's been changed to a zip file then how do I get inside the xpi directory?

I copy & paste the link in my FF, but I get a message that the file cant be viewed. I also tried a direct download, but not sure what to open it with.
