I want to change my primary email address. Your guideline on how to do this does not work. When I create the secondrary email address (to become the new proamry), I veryfy it but that is it. None of the 'change' boxes etc appear. So I cannot use your advice to the end.

This is where you pose direct questions and it takes the Sync Servers time to do this. As well you are changing a primary email address which is a security issue and may have to be reviewed by hand.

Thanks for responding - I dont get the advice here- do I wait a while and see whther the changes I requested happen in a while - like a day or two? The link you sent above does not appear to have relevance

Correct the link does not have relevance unless you can walk over to the other computer or the phone and do what it says to get any info you may need in a hurry since said it was costing you time. Above is a solution to getting data.

As for sync I guess you wait and do not email or any thing as it will lock you out for good so if have pressed stuff more than once you can start screaming now.

Hey there, Thank you for your question about being able to switch the primary email of your Firefox Sync account. Currently, this does not appear to be a feature in the release version of Firefox.

Currently you would have to removed the account from each device, delete the account, then sign up with the second email address.

I didn't realize we had an article on this! After adding a secondary email the special link in the following article made the button appear for me in the Firefox 59 "Nightly" test version, and I was able to switch the address and switch back:

I didn't log out and log back with the new primary address...
