Forum has been reset - serious usability issues for previous users
Since I originally created an account, this forum has apparently been reset, and all user information purged.
The experience for a returning user is exceptionally poor. Here's what happens:
Navigate to support.mozilla.org, click on sign in. Provide the previously working credentials. Result: "Please enter a correct username and password. Note that both fields are case-sensitive."
I think:" OK, maybe I changed it and forgot.". Click on Password Reset. Enter Email and click on Send Password reset link.
Wait, wait, wait. An hour later, no email.
Go back and try "I didn't get a confirmation email. " link. Wait, Wait, Wait. An hour later no email.
Strange. Well maybe I changed my username? Click on "I forgot my username. " link, provide email address. wait, wait, wait. An hour later, nothing received.
Wow, that's strange. Maybe the site's email system is down?
So I'll create a new account, then. OK, where's the "register" link. Wow, there isn't one anywhere on the login page.
Finally I stumbled on the get community support, ask a question link, which after asking a question, allows for registering again. Funny, my userID is available, confirming the user database was purged.
It would have been nice if there was a note on the login page saying "If your account was created before MM-DD-YYYY, it has been removed. Please re-create it."
