I cannot control the position of my emails folders within the email folders list
When I try to reposition an email folder, sometimes it goes back to where it was, sometimes it goes somewhere else, but it never goes where I want it to go!

You posted in the Firefox support fora queue. Firefox doesn't do email, it's strictly a web browser.

If you are using Firefox to access your mail, you are using "web-mail" such as Yahoo!Mail or Gmail. You need to seek support from your service provider or a forum for that service.
Or is your issue with Thunderbird?
