Homepage and virus issues.
Greetings! Hope you are doing well. I am writing to inform the community of users about a rather unpopular problem that novice computer and internet users such as myself face.
It's regarding this unwanted homepage that keeps opening every time I open up my browser. Let me also tell you that I have tried all the general solutions possible. By general I mean the solutions that are available to the community of users page, Mozilla Support on Twitter and the other popular sites that help you with web-based issues.
- 1- Trying to reset my browser the usual way. Going on the 'Settings' menu. Setting my homepage from there. Doesn't work. Every time I open my Firefox, it redirects to the undesired, possibly malicious search engine. (Titled: startpage123.com or searchinme.com).
- 2- Other than solution #1, I also tried resetting the web page from the Mozilla Shortcut Window. Things got a little interesting here. Turns out I don't have the menu with the bar that gives you area to submit the new web page. Therefore, I wasn't able to use that as well folks.
If you have any other solutions that I haven't tried, please help. I would really like some help from you all.

hi Anand, this looks like a problem possibly caused by adware on your pc.
- please go to the firefox menu ≡ > addons > extensions & remove any suspicious entries (toolbars, things that you have not installed intentionally, don't know what purpose they serve, etc).
- also go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there.
- finally, run a full scan of your system with different security tools like the free version of malwarebytes & adwcleaner, which are specialised in adware and browser hijackers.
