Thanks for the update. I checked the system integrity. No issues found. I also tried a refresh firefox but including sync again. Now I will try without sync

After a refresh without sync download was possible. Enabling sync again download fails again. Any idea how to troubleshoot the addon? The same setting on a different PC works (as synced)

more options

I don't know sync. I called for more help.

I finally could put this down ti Firefox sync. It is enough to be logged in to sync. It is not about the data itself. I synced all data, tried to download and Firefox crashed. I disconnected from sync and downloaded without any problem.

As far as I am aware the data remains on the device. So plugins and settings are not the problem.

You can check for problems with preferences.

Delete possible user.js and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename/remove the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in current Firefox releases.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.
