Thunderbird 52.0.1

Hi:

After changing gmail password, Thunderbird tried to connect, a popup windows asking for credentials, first user name, but when clicked on next, that windows freezes. The option button on that window also freezes. I can only close that popup window, then a another thunderbird message says it failed to connect to gmail account.

Gmail settings have not changed: 1) turned on gmail access to less secure apps is still on 2) 2 factor method is still not used. 3) other gmail accounts whose password was not changed can still access those account with thunderbird.

The problem is with the one gmail account whose password was changed. That is the one whose popup windows appears when first trying to access email, and that screen freezes, the next button and option button on that window do not respond. Thunderbird has not crashed. I simply close that window and access other email accounts.

The popup window that freezes, its url begins with: accounts.google.com/signin/oauth?client

Any help is appreciated.

Note: I can access the gmail account whose password was changed through the web, but can't with thunderbird.
