Hi, Has there been a recent update that has made fiefox go a bit funny? For the last couple of weeks when using firefox, I have seen the browser slow up (particularly on facebook), until it his the point where you can't do anything with the mouse and it crashes. The only way to resolve it, is to open task manager and end the session. I have reinstalled Firefox several times and even cleared my browsing history, passwords etc, but nothing has helped.

My windos 10 version is 64 bit and all the downloads for firefox say that they are 32 bit. This has never been an issue in the past, but I wonder if it is now.

There could be a problem with using too much memory. You can check that in the task manager and in Firefox on the about:memory page.

This might be caused by the multi-process feature that is enabled in the current Firefox release. Try to disable multi-process tabs in Firefox.

You can disable multi-process tabs in Firefox by setting the related prefs to false on the about:config page.

  • browser.tabs.remote.autostart = false
  • browser.tabs.remote.autostart.2 = false

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.
