January 2016 Oracle requested that I up date their Java Environment. Started update but after two hours realised something was amiss so tried to cancel update. Computer crashed completely, needed restart from Bios and systems restore, both of which failed the first few times I used them. Eventually got the PC to work in a fashion but then it crashed in exactly the same way when I tried to update itunes. Now working OK but am unable to update with any cofidence and I can't use my AVG scan as Mozilla will not recognise AVG extension. Help

It is usually safer and a lot faster to uninstall the current Java version and download and install the full version of the current Java release.
