I've performed a "safe-start", cleared cookies and cache and still same issue. IE works just fine. No menu items on bottom right screen and no Earth view box at lower left screen.

Ok. Problem is solved. I ran various malware programs such as malwarebytes in safe mode and found items like Adposhel and some other viruses as well. So far google maps is working just fine. Had other problems and they also appear to be history. Thanks for helping me eliminate possible causes...

Remove History For One Site Open the History Manager <Control><Shift> H. In the search bar, enter the name of the site. Right-click on one of the listings and select Forget About This Site. This should remove all information, including any passwords / settings.

No change...same problem. Even entering a search does nothing...

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh).

Is the problem still there?

Start your Computer in safe mode with networking. Then start Firefox. Try Safe websites. Is the problem still there?

If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block content (e.g. Adblock Plus, NoScript, Flash Block, Ghostery, uBlock) then make sure such extensions do not block content. There is security software that can interfere with loading content, so check that as well.

Google maps has worked just fine before exactly the way FF is set up now. I believe the last Firefox upgrade is causing this problem. Thanks for all your help but so far, no luck...

You can check the Web Console (Firefox/Tools > Web Developer) for error messages about blocked and unsafe content. You can check the Network Monitor to see if content is blocked or otherwise fails to load.

You can use "Ctrl+F5" or "Ctrl+Shift+R" to reload the page and bypass the cache to generate a fresh log.

As I was browsing around online, I began to notice that some flash content was intermittent. Most of the time it was working but on rare occasions, the Flash contents wouldn't be there. So a quick page refresh and there it was. I then reinstalled the latest version of Flash and the same problems continued. Another issue I had is I blanked my monitor after 5 minutes of inactivity and around 20 minutes or so after the monitor had powered down, wiggling the mouse would normally wake the monitor back up. But what happened instead is the computer would hard boot itself. This issue so far has disappeared as well. I'm just making you all aware of the symptoms so you can quickly recognize the disease and prescribe the right medicine for a quick cure. Thanks again for your help...  ;)
