Scroll results in vertical bars and no information I was happy with the old original firefox and now you've destroyed everything with your updates. Stop, stop, stop. I don't want and don't need any more "improvements". All of my work is destroyed with this nonsense and I can't communicate with all these glitches. I was barely social before and now I'm about to be mute and give up altogether. I don't want anymore changes or problems. I barely figured out how to post before and now it's becoming impossible. I've already restarted and redone and re whatever and I can't restart and redo anymore. I think I'm about to smash my computer with a hammer into little pieces. Fix the dam browser or go back to the original because I don't want to be a guinea pig or experiment with any dam thing.

Hi Ohgkod, Sorry if we use a lot of jargon, it usually helps us understand matters, and when discussing them amongst ourselves but is not always very good if we use that jargon when trying to explaining solutions.

Firefox tried to improve the speed of picture handling wityh the new version, but this change actually made it worse for some people depending on the parts built in to their computer.

Follow these instructions to turn hardware acceleration and it should fix the problem.

  1. Click the menu button {3 bar icon) and choose Options {Cog icon).
  2. Select the Advanced panel and the General tab.
  3. Uncheck Use hardware acceleration when available.
  4. Click the menu button and then click Quit {standby icon).
  5. Start Firefox the way you normally do.

Other users please note there may be a slightly better fix, and it may depend on your CPU/GPU and drivers

Hello,

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.

You will need to restart Firefox for this to take effect so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).

Then perform these steps:

  1. Click the menu button New Fx Menu and select Options on Windows or Preferences on Mac or Linux.
  2. Select the Advanced panel and then the General tab.
  3. Uncheck Use hardware acceleration when available.
  4. Restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

If the problem is resolved, you should check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in these Knowledge base articles:

Thank you.
