Following a clean installation of Ubuntu 16.04, the bookmark dropdown list no long responds to keyboard input of an initial letter.
I asked this question a couple of months ago. The keyboard selection function worked just fine under 10.4. It still works just fine under Windows 7. Why would it stop working under 16.04? Another wrinkle: the right mouse button goes directly to the URL instead of displaying a menu. Thus I can't get follow the suggestion posted to another query seeking to get rid of the "recently selected" group (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1140338). How could I be the only person affected? Any illumination greatly appreciated.

Hi
I am an Ubuntu 16.04 user myself, so thank you for raisining this issue.
I notice that you are using a Ubuntu build of Firefox. This is a little different from a Mozilla build and features several little Ubuntu tweaks and changes. I think you have two key options:
Raise this issue on one of the Ubuntu support channels
or
Try downloading and installing a Mozilla build of Firefox. If you are going to do this option, I strongly recommend making a backup of your profile so you can reinstall bookmarks and passwords. You can read more about how to do this here.
I hope this helps, but if not, please come back here and we can look into a different solution for you.
