www.abr.gov.au will not open in firefox why?

I use www.abr.gov.au a lot and just in the past week I have been unable to open it. Error of 'the page isn't redirecting properly

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

   This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies.' appears. I have cleared the cookies and cashe, reinstalled firefox and rung the ATO to see if it is there website but not of these are the issue.  My work computer is a pc and have windows 7. I also have a mac as a personal computer and I use firefox on that and can get access to this website. I urgently need help to fix this on my work computer. Can some please suggest a solution

This sometimes happens for no particular reason.

When you have a problem with one particular site that previously worked normally, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.

(1) Clear Firefox's Cache

If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes. If you do not see the number going down on the page, you can reload it using Ctrl+r to check progress.

(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:

  • right-click (on Mac Ctrl+click) a blank area of the page and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
  • (menu bar) Tools > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
  • click the padlock or "i" icon in the address bar, then the ">" button, then More Information, and finally the "View Cookies" button

In the dialog that opens, the current site should be pre-filled in the search box at the top of the dialog so you can remove that site's cookies individually.

Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

For Windows, simply shut down and start up again. For routers, for example, the one that comes with your home internet service, unplug it, wait 15 seconds, then plug it back in again. Some people may have multiple routers or separate firewalls.

Yes I've tried that and still didnt work. This morning I can get onto the website, and I want to apply for an ABN I click on the link which goes to another page and I click on the tab thats says,

No I do not go through any software. I have firefox as my preferred browser and I have a bookmark I use but have deleted that and go to google search and click on the abr.gov.au link there

Since this is not specific to Firefox, I'm wondering whether external software, for example, like Avast, ESET, or Kaspersky, may be intercepting and filtering your connection. Otherwise, it's hard to understand how the problem could be occurring in all of your browsers.

I dont know either why this is the only ATO website I cant get access to. I dont have any of the software you are mentioning. How would I know if it is external software that would be causing this issue? Now I cant even get to the page where as I was able to this morning????
