Hey guys. For few weeks and maybe months I used firefox 37, every time I entered to "about firefox" it told me that firefox is up to date. few weeks ago I checked in mozila site and it showed me that there is firefox version 45! So I downloaded and installed it manually. And now this problem happens again: http://prntscr.com/b4febw It says that firefox is up to date(version 45) but in mozila site I see that there is a new version(46). another problem is the history, every time I'm trying to remove just some of the history(I want to remove all the folder "older than 6 months" which is pretty big folder) firefox doesn't respond and just stuck till I close it... what should I do? BTW I want to remove this folder because when I write something in the URL like "youtu" it takes pretty long time till firefox shows me suggestions, I guess that's because my history is huge...

Thanks.

Some problems occur when your Internet security program was set to trust the previous version of Firefox, but no longer recognizes your updated version as trusted. Now how to fix the problem: To allow Firefox to connect to the Internet again;

  • Make sure your Internet security software is up-to-date (i.e. you are running the latest version).
  • Remove Firefox from your program's list of trusted or recognized programs. For detailed instructions, see

What do you mean "Internet security program"? Do you mean antivirus? Anyway, I don't have antivirus, I do have windows firewall and windows defender. I tried to remove firefox from the firewall and to add it again, but it didn't work. My action center: http://prntscr.com/b4lstu

Let’s do a full clean re-install; Download Firefox For All languages And Systems {web link} Save the file. Then;

Using your file browser, open the Programs Folder on your computer.

Windows: C:\Program Files C:\Program Files (x86) Mac: Open the "Applications" folder. Linux: Check your user manual.

Do Not remove the profiles folder.

Look for, and rename any Mozilla or Firefox program folders by adding .old to them.

After rebooting the computer, run a registry scanner. Then run the installer. If all goes well, remove the OLD folders when you are done.

If there is a very large amount of history then best is to remove the history manually in the History Manager. You can enter a colon (:) in the search bar and start selecting history item from the bottom upwards via Shift+ Page Up and select about 1000 items at the time and press the Delete key to remove the selected history items.

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database (bookmarks and history) in the Firefox profile folder.
