Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

Just a correction to my previous post. Apparently the keyboard won't work in IE, Firefox or Tor just in SWWare (chrome) web browser. It works in Thunderbird and Microsoft Word/Works.

Check that your mouse/pad software is up to date.

Sorry, Check that your computer's software is up to date.

Start your Computer in safe mode with networking. Then start Firefox. Try Safe websites. Is the problem still there?

Software is up to date. Started in safe mode, opened firefox and it works there.

The keyboard works in the computers safe mode, but not normal mode. Something on your system may be blocking the keyboard, or the programs.

Make sure the program/browser has the computers focus (on top).

You may have ad / mal-ware. Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.

Some have reported that pressing F9 and the Windows key simultaneously one or more times has worked to fix issues with the keyboard not working.

If this doesn't help then close and restart Firefox or reboot the computer (you may have to reboot more than once).

The F9/Windows key trick didn't work. Mal-Ware scan came back clean. The keyboard works every where else just not inside Firefox or Tor browsers. Works ok inside SWWare (chrome) browser, works inside MS Word. Have researched and found this issue has happened to others with firefox. Tried deleting the firefox profiles and re-installing, no go.
