I don't recommend reinstalling Firefox at this point. Most problems actually are in the settings, which won't be helped by reinstalling. Are you referring to the search bar that usually appears toward the right end of Firefox's main toolbar? You can reset the toolbar layout back to its initial setup using the "Restore defaults" button at the bottom of the Customize tab.
