Identity safe still isn't compatible with FF 45! My latest add-on was updated March 23.

Hi ann0yed2 and other readers:

A user who frequents Norton's forums recently posted some updates in another thread that start here: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1092033#answer-864795

As of that update, the anticipated release date for a Norton Toolbar that integrates with your vault is August 2016 assuming that by then Firefox is ready to support a new kind of add-on technology that is still in active development. To put that another way: it could be delayed further.

I haven't used FF in a few months but I checked today hoping to see an update for the Norton Toolbar. I'd like to use Firefox but that's impossible without Identity Safe.

I blame Mozilla more than I blame Norton for the Identity Safe incompatibility problem.

Your website is rarely updated and still indicates my last post was ONE MONTH ago. It's been nearly 2 months now but Mozilla doesn't care.

Hi ann0yed2, this is out of Mozilla's control: the add-on is proprietary software that no one but Symantec has the legal right to modify. If it were open source software, I'm sure this would have been resolved a long time ago.

This is only a thread on a forum. The thread only gets bumped if somebody posts in it.

Extensions that are made by say antivirus clients to tie in the antivirus software with Firefox needs to be made for each new major Firefox Release.

Mozilla does not make or maintain the Norton Identity Safe Toolbar extension nor is Firefox ever made to work with any extensions. It is up to Symantec to do so. It is Symantac that is working on it with their Norton product support of Firefox Releases.

Symantac knew for months they needed to make an update type of toolbar and Symantac even asked Mozilla to hold off a change (for a extra Release) that affected the old way Norton was using to do their Firefox toolbar extensions. They have yet to finish past the partial support of their features.
