Hidy ho all

I have some kaspersky addons that are disabled, because they cannot be verified. Trouble is, I know these addons are good, and would like to re-enable them.

I'm using Firefox 43.0.3 at the moment.

I found an answer saying I needed to change a config setting for Firefox, from requiring addons to be signed, from true to false. Trouble is, that answer didn't tell me where to find this setting.

That said, I have no trouble with this setting. If it wasn't blocking my antivirus addons, I wouldn't even be asking this question. Is it possible to change this setting, to allow my antivirus addons, and verify everything else?

Hi, type about:config into the address bar, press Enter, accept the warning, scroll down to xpinstall.signatures.required and double click on it to change 'Value' from True to False. You may then need to restart Firefox. Note that this will only work until Firefox 44 - due for release on 26 January. After that, they will need to be signed - Add-on signing in Firefox.

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.

Looks like they are working now. Thanks for that!

Not having access to that setting in the future is troubling. Will we (the user) be able to add access that setting in the future release?

No, that is a temporary preference and expected to be gone in Firefox 44.

I really hope they give us another option for enabling addons we know to be good then.

Anyway, thanks for the help all.
