I have windows 7,firefox But recenlty after upgrading firefox ,fonts are blurry and thin.really annoying for eyes. Firefox developer edition has this problem too. Graphic card is ATI Raedon 4300 series on ACER 4810tg laptop.

I disabled hardware acceleration but not helped. Now downloded an add-on "anti-alising-tuner" which I am not sure if it helps.

see attachment.

Please Help.

Thanks

Type about:preferences#content<enter> in the address bar. Across from fonts and colors, press the Advanced button. On the bottom, turn on Allow Web Sites To Choose Their Own.

Does this also happen in the current release since you posted with a DE version?

Is ClearType still enabled in Windows?

Win7: *Control Panel > Personalization > Window Color and Appearance > Fonts > "Adjust ClearType text"

more options

yes, cleartype is on.

I dont know why this is like this.

more options

No Its on other versions too.

Previous Solutions suggest the ClearType setup process may have to be rerun (with ClearType temporarily disabled for good measure), or you may need to switch gfx.content.azure.enabled and gfx.direct2d.disabled or hardware acceleration to get things back to normal. Since you already tried disabling hardware acceleration, you could tweak the other two á la https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/943977.

Did you try re-running the ClearType setup?

more options

yes,I did. no change.

Did you check if there is an update available for the graphics display driver?

more options

Usually you will get nicer fonts with hardware acceleration enabled. One exception might be Helvetica Neue, which you can work around and shouldn't affects most sites.

Our support article suggests safe places to check for driver updates (yours are from 2009, so maybe...): Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL.
