41.02 wont open any pages on windows 7. No viruse, no malware, cookies & history all cleared. Deleted & re-installed but it keeps giving me the slow to respond

41.02 stopped opening web pages about a week ago. I have cleared history & cache. Ran antivirus (avg) ran malwarebytes, they show nothing removed firefox, restarted & run registry first aid. reinstalled firefox but it refuses point blank to open ANY page even removing from allowed programs in firewall then adding again does nothing. I still get the connection has timed out message. This is on all sites. I have ie11 installed and this works fine. I have tried with chrome & this works fine. I have followed all the suggestions on https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/websites-dont-load-troubleshoot-and-fix-errors but it still refuses to connect. is 41.02 a faulty update?

Type about:preferences#advanced<Enter> in the address bar.

Under Advanced, Select Network. Look for Configure How Firefox Connects and press the Settings button. If you are using a proxy, make sure those settings are correct. If there is no proxy, first use No Proxy. If there is a problem, then try System Proxy.

Some problems occurs when your Internet security program was set to trust the previous version of Firefox, but no longer recognizes your updated version as trusted. Now how to fix the problem: To allow Firefox to connect to the Internet again;

  • Make sure your Internet security software is up-to-date (i.e. you are running the latest version).
  • Remove Firefox from your program's list of trusted or recognized programs. For detailed instructions, see
